HAPPY 7th BIRTHDAY SWEET LITTLE PACO!
Yesterday was my dog's birthday, so my husband and I celebrated with him! We got him the perfect little "Birthday Boy" tank top, sprinkled peanut butter cake, party hats and a lot of balloons! To all of you who do not have a dog, you are totally judging me right now and that's okay! To all my fellow dog moms, you get me!
I just wanted to celebrate this sweet little boy who has such a large heart, no really the vet said he has an enlarged heart. It's just because he has so much love to give for his tiny little body!
Every morning he sleeps in until my husband or I wakes up first to then let us know he has to go outside; he is so considerate of our sleep! Haha! He gives the best greetings when we come home. When it is dinner time, he hops on the empty chair at the table closest to my husband and I and sits patiently in hopes of a crumb. He is such a lap dog, he just wants to be in the safety and warmth of us. He also is a purse dog; if there is an open purse in his sight, he will wiggle his way into it. He loves his security blankey, he cannot live without it. If it is in one room and I am in the other, he will drag it (its about 10X the size of him) to wherever I am so that we can cuddle. Hes a lover, not a biter. He barks and cries until he gets attention from strangers. His favorite "human food" treats are apples, carrots, and peanut butter. Often he cries or barks in his sleep during a nightmare and it hurts my heart so much that I wake him up. He doesn't love going on walks because he would rather be carried...or in a purse. He hates water, the beach, and getting baths. Lastly, he would love to lick you to death! He loves giving kisses!
Paco is a rescue puppy and before him I never had really realized the importance of adopting dogs. Seven years ago my best friend was driving down her road when she saw a little something in the road ahead of her. She thought it was a squirrel at first but then it was not moving as she got closer. She got out of the car and saw this tiny little puppy who was barely even a pound. The next day she was telling me about the little puppy she had found and I was at work so I told her to bring him over so I could see him. At that time I was working at a tanning salon before leaving for college. She brought him over and instantly I fell IN LOVE with him and had to have him. That afternoon we took him to the vet and surprisingly he did not have any worms and was completely fine, aside from the many flea baths she had already given him, the scars he had all over his body, and his lack of fur. Those were just cosmetic things though! The vet guessed that he was maybe even five weeks old, so I back dated five weeks prior and June 5th became his birthday! A few weeks after having him, it was time for me to move off to college so of course he came with me! He has gone to college with me, graduated college, moved to Houston, been there when my husband and I got engaged, when we got married, moved to LA, and just brings smiles and laughter to us every single day. He truly is part of our family.
