California Trip

My husband and I recently took a trip to Los Angeles and San Diego to celebrate our Anniversary. It was such a great trip and we had the best time! We both also have a love for southern California now! Here are a few photos from our vacation!

Immediately after we jumped off the plane, we got our rental car and went to have brunch! We didn't have any place in mind but on the way to our hotel (we stayed at Hotel Sixty), we found this cute little restaurant called The Ivy. I wish I would have taken a picture of the front of the restaurant because their patio is GORGEOUS! If you live in West Hollywood or travel there, you definitely have to eat at The Ivy.

After brunch we headed to the Griffith Observatory Park to view the Hollywood sign. Yes, I am still in my airplane outfit because we hadn't even checked into our hotel yet! At the very bottom of this post, I have attached the link with outfit details! It was a comfortable yet that I thought worked while adventuring since I didn't have the chance to change and freshen up.

Our first night, we went to dinner at Sur. We saw a lot of the cast members from Vanderpump Rules but no Lisa Vanderpump! After dinner and drinks we walked over to Pump to have a few more cocktails (still no Lisa in sight...).

The next morning we had brunch at Villa Blanca (sadly STILL no Lisa Vanderpump) and then walked around Rodeo Drive. Rodeo Drive looks so perfect and put together, I felt like I was on a movie set! "Is this real life?!"

We spent a few days in Los Angeles, West Hollywood, and Beverly Hills area then drove down to San Diego. The drive to San Diego is unbelievable! We passed and stopped through Long Beach, Huntington Beach, and Newport Beach, and Dana Point. Once we got to San Diego, our hotel (Andaz San Diego) had this cute little wine and cheese set-up for us. I loved our stay at Andaz! The staff was so genuinely kind and they served wine in the lobby every evening!

Our first night in San Diego, we didn't have dinner plans but we were just driving around exploring. My husband, Glen, saw a group of people near a boat at the pier and then parked the car so we could get out. He asked what all the people were waiting for and it turned out they were about to board for a dinner cruise. We bought tickets to join and hopped on the boat! The dinner cruise was so much fun! They had a three course meal, cocktails, a DJ, and a rooftop section to sit and watch the view as the boat toured the San Diego Bay.

The next morning we had breakfast at Cafe Gratitude and it was absolutely delicious! They are a 100% vegan & plant-based restaurant and I think my husband was a little apprehensive when the waitress explained that the "bacon" in his burrito was actually going to be coconut marinated in maple. He has the typical "Texas Man" pallet (the more meat the better) that I was nervous for him to actually try it, but he actually loved it!

Of course we went to the San Diego Zoo! The zoo was so big we didn't even get to see all the animals!

We went to visit La Jolla and went to The Cove. I fell IN LOVE with La Jolla!! Not only is it the perfect little town, but the sea lions that hang out on the beach are a plus! We had dinner with this gorgeous view at George's at The Cove.

After dinner we had gelato at this all-natural & organic gelato shop called Bobboi, and it was scrumptious!

We both agree that San Diego has stolen a piece of our heart! I absolutely love that place! We cannot wait to go back! :)

Cheers!
